Why Laraine? Laraine Callow (Deaf), Director of Deafworks, has won several management awards and has senior management experience within both the education sector and the voluntary sector, as well as involvement with national and local deaf organisations. She also works extensively within the commercial and the arts fields on deaf issues and deaf access. She trains both deaf and hearing people from all backgrounds including education, social services, companies and charities all over the U.K. on management skills, assertion, mentoring, Deaf Awareness, DDA , teamwork, interview skills, pre-counselling skills and many other topics. She is a well established supervisor and mentor of deaf managers and Deaf Professionals, a member of the National Mentoring Network and runs training courses for deaf organisations and others, training deaf people on how to mentor others in a helpful and productive way. Laraine also has training in counselling, assertion skills, mediation and soon will be a qualified coach.
