Hearing Professionals Training

Who are you

Hearing staff who work in a variety of organisations within the private and public sectors where there may be deaf staff or deaf or hard of hearing clients, and who are looking for a half day or full day workshop to meet their immediate need for expertise and knowledge about deafness.

What you want

As a member of staff or manager, you may have encountered challenges when working with deaf or hard of hearing people and need to know how to meet these challenges successfully and quickly.

What you get

These workshops address your concerns and questions (you can even email them to us beforehand) and give you practical advice as well as an opportunity to talk through the main concerns deaf people (colleagues or clients) have. Our most popular courses are ‘Deaf Awareness‘ and also ‘Working with a Deaf Colleague‘: we also regularly provide workshops on ‘Notetaking Skills’, ‘Supporting Deaf Students’ and ‘Counselling Skills with Deaf People’.

We can come to you anywhere in the U.K. to run the above workshops for your group of staff and/or volunteers.

Can’t see what you want? Just contact us for a discussion. Let us help you achieve results!

How it works

Laraine Callow, the Director of Deafworks or a carefully selected trainer can come to your workplace with a programme agreed with you beforehand.  Chrissy said, “Just to a quick note to thank you for encouraging me to send my team on the above training. It was fantastic with an excellent facilitator, he kept us fully engaged for 3 hours and we all learnt so much”.
