We have set up a Deafworks Deaf Professionals UK Facebook Group where we enourage people to post queries, advice, ideas on how we can continue to improve our work situation.
This is what we say:
“This Deafworks Facebook Group is a discussion forum for us all to explore issues for Deaf Professionals in the workplace and to swop ideas and suggestions. The term Deaf Professionals is used to mean all D/deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK who are in professional careers such as teachers, nurses, playworkers, social workers, development officers, managers, co-ordinators, leaders etc etc working either in mainstream or in the D/deaf field.”
Deafworks is a D/deaf-led company which pushes the boundaries for D/deaf people in the workplace – we want D/deaf people to succeed in whatever they choose to do. We get emails every single day from either Deaf Professionals or HR departments looking for solutions – so why not email your query either here or to the Facebook group and see what Deafworks and other people suggest as ways forward?
