Do you have a deaf member of staff? Do hearing colleagues need to develop appropriate communication skills and have some understanding of deafness? Deafworks is often asked to provide training for hearing staff who are working with a deaf colleague. On the basis of the staff group, we will advise on the suitable length and content of the programme. We always develop a specifically tailored course.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to: manage the office environment more effectively, make meetings work better, organise things to be "deaf-user friendly".

The trainer will always arrange to meet the deaf member(s) of staff shortly before the training begins: but we recommend that they are not involved in the programme itself so that hearing colleagues feel able to ask the necessary basic questions about deafness. Alternatively we can provide a team-building workshop for deaf and hearing colleagues.
